Ministries / Programs

Having a tough time finding a ministry?  Look no further.  Below is a list of ministries and programs run by the parish that St. Isaac Jogues Parish has available for parishioners and the community.  Each ministry is organized in the same manner in the top menu on the website.  We encourage you to click on one of the groups below to go to their specified pages or use the top menu to locate them.  If there is a ministry that you cannot find, please contact the parish office manager.

LITURGICAL

• ALTAR SERVERS: Those who assist at the altar, especially at Sunday and Holy Day Masses.
• ART & ENVIRONMENT: A team focused on creating and maintaining the environment within the church.
• EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST: Dedicated ministers assist the Priest during Mass to help in the distribution of the Eucharist and Precious Blood.
• LECTORS: Those proclaim the Word of God at Eucharistic Liturgies on Sundays, feast days and special occasions.
• MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY: A team of individuals who greet and welcome all people into our Church and assist them to their seats if needed. During the Mass, they pass the collection baskets during the Preparation of the Gifts, assist the people carrying the gifts to the Altar, help direct the Communion procession and after Mass, distribute the parish bulletins or other notices, as well as tidy up the Church.
• MUSIC MINISTRY: The group of people who use their musical talents to worship God.
• SACRISTAN MINISTRY: Individuals who maintain the sacristy, which include the vessels, the vestments and other items.

FAITH FORMATION

• ADULT FAITH FORMATION - For adults to learn more about Church doctrine, dogma, mission and teachings
• P.R.E.P. (Parish Religious Education Program) - For youth from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade to learn more about their faith
• SACRAMENT PREPARATION - Includes all programs to prepare individuals, family members and sponsors for sacraments
• WHY CATHOLIC? - Small Christian communities discussing faith in a structured format
• BIBLE STUDY - Studying and discussing scripture
• VACATION BIBLE STUDY (VBS) - Themed Bible study for youth during summer vacation

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT

• YOUTH MINISTRY - Ministry for the youth (Grades 9 through 12)
• YOUNG ADULT GROUP - Ministry for young adults (Ages 18 through 30)

SERVICES

• JOB MINISTRY - Assisting those who are unemployed or underemployed
• MINISTRY TO THE SICK - Assisting those who are ill and cannot make it to the church
• PRISON MINISTRY - Assisting those who are in prison
• BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY - Assisting those who have lost a loved one
• SPECIAL NEEDS / DISABILITIES - Assisting this with special needs or disabilities

PARISH RETREATS - Includes various seasonal retreats such as the Lenten and Advent retreats

PARISH COUNCILS - Includes councils such as the Finance Council
